America’s schools present EB-5 investment opportunities
There are countless EB-5 investment opportunities across America, but few present as many chances to help young people as the school industry.
There are six EB-5 regional centers around the nation that list schools as one of their focused industries on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service's website.
The EB-5 visa program gives foreign investors a chance to earn U.S. green card eligibility. If a foreign national invests $1 million (or in some areas $500,000) and that investment leads to the creation or preservation of 10 jobs, the investor, his wife and his unmarried children aged less than 21 years become eligible for U.S. green cards.
A large portion of EB-5 investments are handled through EB-5 regional centers. According to the USCIS, these centers can be "any economic unit, public or private, which is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation, and increased domestic capital investment."
These centers help direct and manage foreign investment.
The EB-5 regional centers that focus on schools are located in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi and Washington.
