Construction industry is popular with EB-5 regional centers
Sometimes, when considering an EB-5 investment opportunity it is best to stick with the basics, and few industries are as basic and essential as construction.
There are 18 EB-5 regional centers throughout the country that list construction as one of their focus industries, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). These regional centers may be able to help investors meet the requirements of the EB-5 visa program.
The EB-5 visa program allows foreign nationals to become eligible for U.S. green cards if they invest $1 million in an American business and 10 jobs are created as a result of that investment. EB-5 regional centers are “any economic unit, public or private, which is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation, and increased domestic capital investment,” according to the USCIS’s website.
Those EB-5 investors who want to get involved with an EB-5 regional center that focuses on construction may want to consider the type of construction in which they want to invest. For instance, some EB-5 regional centers focus on residential construction while others specialize in mixed-use construction.
Regardless of what industry a foreign national invests in, participation in the EB-5 visa program is an excellent way to earn one’s U.S. green card.
