EB-5 investment opportunities abound in the entertainment industry
There are EB-5 investment opportunities all over the country and in many different industries, but there might not be any as exciting as the entertainment industry.
According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) website there are 16 different EB-5 regional centers across the nation that list entertainment as one of the industries in which they focus. Often times this means that the EB-5 regional centers are involved in creating entertainment venues, like amphitheaters and clubs.
The EB-5 visa program was created by Congress in 1990 to help American businesses attract investments from overseas. Under the program, those foreign nationals who invest $1 million in a U.S. business will become eligible for U.S. green cards if the investment leads to the creation or preservation of 10 jobs.
EB-5 regional centers were established to help manage and direct these foreign investments. These centers can be virtually any private or public entity. Some EB-5 regional centers are designated Targeted Employment Areas, which are defined by law as “a rural area or an area that has experienced high unemployment of at least 150 percent of the national average,” according to the USCIS. Only $500,000 need be invested in such designated regions.
Foreign nationals looking for an exciting EB-5 investment opportunity may want to work with an EB-5 regional center that focuses on the entertainment industry.
