Idaho presents many EB-5 investment opportunities
Idaho may be one of the smaller countries in the United States in terms of population but it has some big EB-5 investment opportunities.
The Gem State is home to two EB-5 regional centers, according to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.
The Idaho State Regional Center focuses on the mining and tourism industry and the Invest Idaho Regional Center specializes in the technology, education and research fields.
The EB-5 visa program gives foreign nationals a chance to earn U.S. green cards. If a foreigner invests $1 million (or in some specially designated areas, $500,000) in an American business and that investment leads to the creation or preservation of 10 jobs, the investor becomes green card eligible.
EB-5 regional centers were established shortly after the creation of the original program to help direct and manage this foreign investment. They can be "any economic unit, public or private, which is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation, and increased domestic capital investment," according to the USCIS.
