Many EB-5 regional centers focus on office buildings
When choosing what to invest in when participating in the EB-5 visa program, foreign nationals may want to consider choosing an EB-5 regional center that builds offices.
America will always need office buildings, as white-collar jobs have become the norm in the country, making an investment in their construction a wise decision. Fortunately for EB-5 investors, there are 27 regional centers that list the construction of various office facilities as one of its focuses on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) website.
The EB-5 visa program gives foreign nationals the opportunity to become eligible for U.S. green cards by investing $1 million (or in some regions, $500,000) in an American business. If that investment creates or preserves 10 jobs then the investor is green card eligible.
EB-5 regional centers can be “any economic unit, public or private, which is involved with the promotion of economic growth, improved regional productivity, job creation, and increased domestic capital investment,” according to the USCIS website. They were created to help manage and direct EB-5 investments.
If one decides to invest in office construction there are a number of different types, including commercial, medical and professional.
