Does it matter what state an EB-5 Regional Center is located?

In traveling the world to promote the American EB-5 Visa Program we are often asked if people are required to reside in the area of the EB-5 project they invest into. The question is easy to answer, however it is rather ambivalent. Why?

On the one hand, clients are happy to learn that unlike many other visa programs, the EB-5 investment program allows foreign investors to live and work anywhere they want in the United States.

On the other hand, there are clients that ask this question in order to understand how the location of a particular EB-5 Regional Center, and especially the EB-5 Project, can influence their investment and its future. The answer for this group of clients gets more complicated and requires knowledge of an expert.

First of all, the location of the EB-5 Project influences the amount of investment required and that difference is substantial. The investor has to invest either $1,000,000 or $500,000. Additionally, the location of the Regional Center, its economic, geographic and demographic characteristics, can influence the future of the EB-5 project and its success.

If you would like to know more about how the location of a particular EB-5 Regional Center that can potentially affect the success of the Project please send a request to Fred Burgess or Joe Sloboda from Exclusive Visas by sending an email to info@eb5exclusive.com or fill out the Contact Us form online.
