EB-5 visa program center of business trip to China
Returning from a trip to China, made in order to advance the idea of an EB-5 investment opportunity in a Pennsylvania industrial park, the park’s manager noted the motivation that the potential investors exhibited for pursuing an EB-5 visa.
“They see [the EB-5 visa program] as a vehicle to come to America for more than a financial aspect,” manager Mike Wren told the Columbia Basin Herald.
He added, “To see their hunger to go to America is a great reminder of what we have.”
Wren and members of the Grant County Economic Council traveled to China in part to promote investment in Washington Tire, a company that is looking to build a factory near the Port of Ephrata airfield, reports the news source.
Though Washington Tire financed the trip, Wren indicated that the goal of the trip “was to talk about Grant County, not really endorse Washington Tire.”
The port manager was unable to say whether the trip was successful in drawing any investments and indicated that the investment company hosting the event must follow up with any interested parties before any major decisions are made.
Under the EB-5 visa program, the investors would be eligible for a U.S. green card in exchange for an endowment of at least $500,000 in a U.S. company.
