USCIS debates price of wastewater treatment plant in Victorville, CaliforniaThe U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is reportedly questioning the price tag of the wastewater treatment plant in Victorville, California, following the city's appeal of the agency's decision to end the local EB-5 visa program, reports the Victorville Daily Press.

According to the news provider, the USCIS is questioning documents that show three different totals for the price tag that range from $30 million to nearly $58 million.

In late October, the USCIS decided to terminate the EB-5 visa program over concerns that the city may not have been complying with the requirement to create at least 10 full-time jobs with each investment in the plant.

Through the EB-5 visa program, foreign nationals can obtain U.S. green card eligibility by investing $1 million (or $500,000 in some areas) in an American company or project that either creates or maintains at least 10 full-time jobs.

According to the news provider, city staff members have said that the $30 million cost was for the actual plant, while the higher costs have come up to include different infrastructure levels.
