Arizona governor who signed controversial immigration bill wins re-electionJan Brewer, the governor of Arizona who shot to prominence after signing a controversial bill regarding enforcement of immigration law, won re-election to her post on November 2, reports WALB.

The law, Arizona SB 1070, has sparked a great deal of debate thanks to provisions that give Arizona the toughest immigration statutes in the nation.

Brewer was the Arizona Secretary of State when her predecessor, Janet Napolitano, left office to become Secretary of Homeland Security in President Barack Obama's Cabinet. She gained national attention for her signing of SB 1070, which also earned her a great deal of popularity in her home state.

According to the news source, Brewer sees her re-election as an endorsement of conservative immigration policies, stating in her victory speech that "tonight, the people have redeemed and renewed America."

Foreigners who are interested in earning U.S. green card eligibility may participate in the EB-5 visa program, which awards such eligibility to foreign nationals whose $1 million ($500,000 in certain regions) investment in an American company creates or preserves 10 jobs.
