Comic Stephen Colbert testifies in front of Congress on immigrationStephen Colbert, a comic pundit who hosts a show on Comedy Central, recently testified in front of Congress about immigration reform.

Colbert, whose brand of humor is straight-faced satire of the country's political punditry, spoke in front of the House subcommittee on immigration, according to the Washington Post.

In his four minutes in front of the panel, Colbert spoke about his desire to have the farm work in the U.S. performed by American workers using his tongue-in-cheek style of comedy.

"I don't want a tomato picked by a Mexican," Colbert testified. "I want it picked by an American, sliced by a Guatemalan . . . and served in a spa where a Chilean gives me a Brazilian."

Colbert had recently filmed a segment regarding the farm jobs that are held by undocumented workers and how most Americans don't want to perform such hard labor.

Regardless of farm workers, foreign nationals can gain U.S. green cards by investing in American businesses. If foreigners invest $1 million (or in certain areas, $500,000) and that investment leads to the creation or preservation of 10 jobs, the investor becomes green card eligible.
