U.S. election results brings immigration into the spotlightWith the Republicans' recent electoral victory that saw the GOP regain control of the House and make significant gains in the Senate, many expect immigration to be one of the most important political issues in the U.S. over the next few years, according to the Orange County Register.

"It's going to be much more heated than the last two years," Roy Beck, who heads the anti-illegal immigration group NumbersUSA, told the news source. "People will get riled up all over the country. The marches will pick up steam again … it's going to get hot and heavy."

Those on the other side of the issue, such as Frank Sharry, the executive director of America's Voice, which favors reform that would legalize millions of immigrants, are concerned of the tact the newly-formed Congress might take.

"The Republican house is likely to pass some of the most extreme anti-immigrant legislation in recent history that we've seen in our generation," he told the news source.

Regardless of the current political climate, foreign nationals can earn a chance to live in America by participating in the EB-5 visa program. Under this program foreign nationals who invest $1 million (or in some areas $500,000) in a U.S. business earn U.S. green card eligibility for them and their family if the investment leads to the creation or preservation of 10 jobs.
