Victorville, California uses EB-5 program to create jobs at water treatment plantWith assistance from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the EB-5 visa program and a list of potential investors from Asia, the economically depressed town of Victorville, California has taken steps to create jobs in their region.

Last week, the first foreign investor to target Victorville confirmed that he would designate $550,000 in capital to help finance a $25 million wastewater treatment plant and site preparation for a $120 million bottling plant to the city, the Contra Costa Times reports.

In exchange for his capital, the investor and his family will be awarded immigrant visas, and may become U.S. residents after two years.

The plant development business Inland Group of Newport Beach as assisted with drawing investors, said the company’s spokesman Miguel Gonzalez.

“Zhi Quan and his family are among the first beneficiaries of a plan to line up 50 investors from Asia, each willing to pay $550,000 in exchange…visas for the investors and their families to come to the U.S., work and eventually be eligible to apply for citizenship,” Gonzalez told the news source.

Inland Energy president Buck Johns plans to travel to China and South Korea with California state Senator Bob Huff and his wife Mei Mei Huff to recruit more investors for the project.
