Anindita A. Chowdhury, Attorney

Anindita A. Chowdhury, is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Usilaw, Inc. She specializes in U.S. and Global Immigration Law. Attorney Chowdhury has over fifteen years experience in the field. She has created and implemented multi-modal and cost efficient delivery of immigration solutions and services. She has also been at the forefront of using technology to deliver efficiency and cost savings through On-line Portals and the implementation of Electronic Process and Procedure Structures.

Attorney Chowdhury is responsible for managing accounts of several Fortune 500 companies (including companies involved in high-tech and computer consultancy, service industry, engineering and manufacturing industries); mid-tier companies and start ups. She also has significant experience in providing immigration solutions for high net-worth individuals and Commercially Important Individuals (CIPs). Ms. Chowdhury was responsible for the formulation and set up of U.S. immigration solutions for some of the leading Indian information technology companies. She has also traveled to several US Consulates around the world to represent clients.

Prior to incorporating Usilaw, Attorney Chowdhury, worked for eleven years at leading immigration law firms in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia; and also as the Director of Immigration at a mid-sized multi-national Information Technology company. She has a 360 degree view of the immigration process, from herself having been a first generation immigrant to having seen things from an employer’s perspective.

Ms. Chowdhury graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree from Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, D.C. She also possesses a Master’s degree in Government from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s (Hons.) degree from Loreto College, Calcutta, India. She is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. Ms. Chowdhury is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), American Bar Association and the South Asian Bar Association. In addition to English as her first language, Ms. Chowdhury is fluent in Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati and Urdu.
